Abundant Impatience

I think that the biggest problem for our generation is the lack of patience that exists among us.  We have so much information and stuff at our fingertips that we often take it for granted and think everything should work as fast as 4g does.  I have definitely noticed a decrease in overall patience among my friends and I growing up.  I think it is because the internet provides us with such quick, easy answers.  I also think everything in the world is moving towards efficiency (fast food, online shopping, laundry, siri, etc), and that causes us to expect the rest of the world to act that way.
I don't think this is as much of a problem for the older generations, because they have lived with and without the Internet and such convenient things for a good portion of their lives.  We, on the other hand, have  been born with so much technology at our fingertips.  I think that as time moves on, this problem will only get worse from generation to generation unless it is addressed correctly.

  1. I think you have a good point. People aren't good at waiting for what they want. They want instant gratification.

  2. I think this is totally true. It's really really convenient that we do have so much information at our fingertips, but it is also decreasing our patience with the rest of the world!

  3. Go, go, go is the attitude of today and with high speed everything we are trying to speed up also. Sometimes people just need to stop and smell the roses instead of running right over them. Patience is a virtue after all!

  4. I would agree with you, in a world where everything is instant, there is a lot pf impatience.

  5. I totally agree. When we've lived our entire lives spoiled by a system that teaches us that we can have what we want when we want it, we're setting ourselves up to be disappointed. Expecting too much can be dangerous.

  6. Indeed. Humans have sped up considerably too, but we'll never keep up with our technology. Maybe that's why human interactions have become less fulfilling than online relationships for many people too? Online, you can't see the writing, rewriting, and struggle that happens behind the action.
