In my personal opinion, I think that this class has gone very well so far. I believe that every assignment and requirement that we are given are for our own benefit and to help us not only succeed in this class, but to learn things for the rest of our academic careers and life. I think that these blogs that we keep up on each week allow us to exercise some creativity. For me, most of my homework and studies require no creativity whatsoever. It is great to be able to uniquely reflect and convey ourselves in our writing.
I also think that recording our weekly participation each week allows us to make sure that we are participating in class discussion and to realize how we can become better at in-class participation. It also gives us another opportunity to communicate with another student in the class who can help give advice and encourage us to participate.
I believe that the papers that we have written are for our own benefit because it teaches us certain skills that we will be able to utilize in the future, whether it be in other classes at Brigham Young University or in our future careers. Writing is important in school and in life.
Overall, I think that this class has gone very well. I am able to see the reason for each of the assignments and how they can help us.
I agree that this class isn't supposed to be just another general education class, but should help you in the future (whatever it may be). All the assignments have a purpose. At least, they have good intentions behind them!
