Admirer 1 really appeals to the emotions of the reader using pathos. I think that admirer 1 figures that their poem is really quite poetic and romantic. Also by making their note anonymous it adds to the mystery and romance of their argument. However, their word choice of "waiting so many nights" makes them seem a little desperate.
By reading this note, I am can assume that this admirer is very passionate and caring. They try hard, but don't think their arguments through too logically. They were also very illogical in inviting someone to meet them in the middle of the night somewhere because they might end up a little creepy.
I would not accept this offer because A) I don't want to go somewhere at midnight to meet someone just to realize that is is someone I am not interested in and B) if someone likes me, I am not a fan of the mystery/head games..they need to just come out and say it.
Sorry, Admirer 1, I don't want to break your heart...but you might be spending this Valentines Day alone.
I totally agree with you! I wouldn't ever meet up with a random person at midnight.. And they do sound a little desperate. Great analysis!
